Chain Mail, Part 3

I stood there, horrified. Eric…he’d done so many bad things to her that she wasn’t even responding to me anymore. I couldn’t imagine how much pain she must be in. She must have been through something so traumatic to react like this. I gave her some time to cool down while I cleaned up the dining area. I half chuckled, not realizing how messy Tomato soup could be, or how painful my body still ached, but if Kathleen was to be happy, then I had to make sure everything was good for her. I looked up at the clock, and noticed it was half past 10 pm. Well no wonder she wasn’t hungry. She was probably really tired.

I stood up and walked to the sink, rinsing out the towel, feeling horrible for my love. “Don’t worry Kathleen. Don’t worry. He’ll never lay another hand on you again,” I spoke softly to myself. I walked back over to the bedroom door and knocked on it. “Kathleen, I’m going out for a little bit. Don’t worry though. I won’t let that pervert hurt you ever again.”

”I just want to go home!!”

I could hear her crying, but I knew that I could never let her go back. He would be waiting there, and he would do even more things to her. “I’m sorry my beloved. I can’t let you leave. He’ll find you and hurt you even more, and that would just be devastating. No…You can’t leave, but I’ll be back soon.” As I walked away from the door, I could hear her crying more. I had to let her know how much I really cared for her so that she wouldn’t want to go back to that freak. I got in the car and drove off to the market. I did feel bad though, leaving Kathleen without a phone, but I only had my cell and if anything happened I would need it.

I parked a few minutes later and walked into the market. “If I’m going to get Kathleen to stop thinking about that freak, then I’ll need to make her feel happy and welcomed.” I assured myself that I could get her to stop having feelings for her assailant. I grabbed a large bouquet of flowers, knowing how much she enjoyed them, and then walked up and down the aisles, grabbing and collecting all her favorite foods that I’d watched her eat or overheard her talk about. I didn’t have much money, but I knew that I had to make her comfortable and happy, and this was well worth it. I spent a good 30 minutes at the market, going up and down each row, but my mind kept going back to Kathleen, hoping that she was fine.

(Not finished.)

Chain Mail, Part 2

I just stared. The windows were uncovered and the shades up. I couldn’t stand it another minute. After what has happened the previous night, I couldn’t let her be alone with him. I’d seen him with her. He was violent and she was innocent. I couldn’t possibly let her be with him again. He had probably violated her and she would end up traumatized for the rest of her life.

I groaned, walking around the house. I rested my hand against my chest, feeling my fractured rib scratch at my insides, but right now my pain would have to wait. I had to save her. I had to take her home…my home, where I could care for her and give her everything she needed.

I continued to walk around the house, hoping there was an easy way to get in. When I noticed that a back window was slightly cracked to let in a little air, I gingerly lifted it and realized I could get in. I walked back around, moaning softly to myself, and went to my truck, grabbing a bag out of it. I closed the door and walked around the back of Kathleen’s house again. I set my bag inside and, with a great deal of effort, got myself in through the window. I covered my mouth as I made a lot of painful noises, the pain from my chest acting up from the aggravation.

After a few minutes of calming down, I lifted the bag to the dinner table and opened it up. I pulled out a large jar of clear liquid and two clothes, just large enough for the palms of my hands. I quietly walked into the living room, the lights still on. I applied the clear liquid to one of the clothes, making sure there was a good deal of it, and crept up behind my Kathleen and the man who had hurt her. I reached down and placed the cloth on his face, pinning it to his face. He must have been a heavy sleeper, because he didn’t fight, but I knew the chemicals had taken effect when his arms went limp. I nodded happily to myself, knowing I was going to save her from this abuser.

I walked around the couch and knelt down in front of them both, reaching out with my clean hand to softly stroke Kathleen’s cheek. She stirred slightly and I continued to stroke her cheek, smiling the whole time. Her eyes slowly opened, her lips smiling.

“Eric…that feels so…Renton? Renton!!” She sat upright very fast, the smile fading immediately and a look of total shock on her face. “Wh…wh…how?!”

I smiled. “It’s ok. I’m here to get you away from him. He won’t hurt you again.”

She turned and looked at him, and his head was hanging down, his body limp. “What did you do to him?!”

“I have stopped him from hurting you again.” I reached out to rub her face again, but she slapped my hand away. “Kathleen…”

“No!! Don’t touch me! Get away from me!” She fumbled on the couch, tears falling from her eyes, but Eric’s heavy arm was around her.

“Kathleen, please stop! Just come with me and I’ll be able to keep you safe forever. No one will ever hurt you again!”

She continued to cry and struggle. “No…please…just leave me alone!!”

I sighed and shook my head. “You’ve gone into shock. He must have been doing things to you while I wasn’t looking.” I quickly applied more of the clear liquid to the other cloth and shoved my hand into your face. “Breathe it in…just calm down…”

She cried more, trying to fight my hand away, but within a few seconds she had calmed down, and a few more passed and she was unconscious.

I sighed again, feeling horrible for doing this to my baby, but it had to be done. She wasn’t going to be here another minute. I got up and unlocked the front door, making sure that I could get out easier. I walked upstairs, looking for her room, and after finding it, I rummaged for a suitcase. I grabbed some socks and panties, her shirts and shorts and pants. I wasn’t sure what she would want to wear, so I grabbed everything. I zipped up her bag and walked out of the house, putting it in my truck. After that, I walked back inside and carefully bent down, picking her up. Instantly I felt a sharp pain in my chest, but I couldn’t leave her, so I carried her, even through my own handicap. It was a bit of a struggle to get her into the truck, but I did it, and soon we were driving away.

I made it to my place without incident, and again, I pulled her out with a great deal of pain to myself, but the satisfaction of knowing she’d never be hurt again was enough to push the pain out of my mind. After getting her inside, I put her in my bed. I knew she would feel more comfortable out of her clothes, so I removed everything she had, except her panties. I looked at her, her beautiful body and I couldn’t help it. I rested my hand on her chest and cupped one of her perfect breasts, then felt the other. I leaned down to kiss her head, then her lips, giving her a soft kiss. “You’ll always be safe here. I’ll never let anyone hurt you.” I got up and tucked her in, then walked out, letting her rest. She’d wake up soon, I thought to myself. The Chloroform wouldn’t last much longer. With that thought in mind, I started on dinner.

Chain Mail, Part 1

It was dark and I had to be sure my angel was safe from that harm of others so I followed her back to her place. There was no harm in that. I needed her safe. She did, after all, keep me from dying. Once she was safely in her home I stuck around for a couple of hours, just to check that she was safe. Then I went home. We had a big day set up, didn’t we?

I got home about 20 minutes following, looking through the pictures of my digital camera at Kathleen…Oh god. Just the sound of her name makes me giddy inside. I quickly fell asleep, knowing that my sweetheart would need a guide tomorrow. I couldn’t possibly let her walk to school alone. Who knows how many freaks are out there trying to hurt her.

I seemed to have slept lightly since I woke up a few minutes before my alarm went off. 4:30 AM. The cold, brisk air and the stars were still out. I showered, dressed, had a quick bite to eat, and then set out. Fridays meant the weirdoes were out. I wasn’t about to let my Kathleen be caught by one of them.

I knew the shortest way to her house, and lucky for me, she was just leaving. “Kathleen! Good morning!”

She whipped around, clutching her backpack to her chest. “W…what are you doing here?!”

I stayed by the sidewalk to her place. “Well, I know how you love to walk to school in the morning. I figured you could use a partner.”

Kathleen looked around again. Where was she to run this time other then back inside her home? “Umm…Renton? Yeah. I don’t need help this morning. I have a ride.”

I blinked a bit, walking towards her. “A ride? What do you mean a ride?”

Kathleen nodded, keeping her distance. “Yes. Someone from school.”

As she said that, a blue Mazda Miata pulled up in front of the house. I turned to look and all I could see was a guy inside. The tinting on his windows was done very well. Kathleen ran right past me and got into the car without a second thought.

“Kathleen! Wait! Remember tonight! 7 PM. We have the concert!”

She closed her car door and they drove off fast. She must have had something pressing to do. Oh well. I’d see her tonight and we’d have the whole night to ourselves.

I passed by the day with getting ready for the night. My one bedroom apartment wasn’t much, but I knew she’d want to come over after the show so I had to clean up, though vacuuming and washing window and dusting aren’t exactly fun, but for my Kathleen, nothing is too much.

I guess time flies, whether you are having fun or anticipating it, because it was close to 5PM when I finished the house. I quickly showered and then got dressed in a full three piece suit, wanting to look the best I could. I pulled my long black hair into a ponytail and smiled at myself. I left the house and walked to the spot I’d told her to meet. With the tickets in my breast pocket, my best suit on, and Kathleen on her way, there was nothing to spoil my evening.

I guess I must have not been paying attention where I was or something. It was already 7:08 PM and she hadn’t shown up. I walked up and down the path a little just to verify I was at the meeting spot, but still…no Kathleen. I could only think of the worst. I quickly ran to her house, hoping that she hadn’t been hurt.

As I turned the corner to her house, I noticed that same blue Miata from earlier. I started to question myself a bit and I walked up to the house and this time to her front door, knocking on it.

Kathleen answered it, but looked like the wind had been knocked out of her* “R…Renton! What are you doing here?!”

I smiled. “Well, you didn’t show up so I thought you might be in trouble. You need to hurry and change. We need to be at the concert hall by 8:30, or they won’t let us in.”

She sighed a little, and I didn’t hear it, but she whimpered. “Renton, thanks for the invitation, but I have someone over right now. He…he is helping me with a report that I need due on Monday.

I glance inside, though the front door is in the way. “You should have just asked me. I could have easily helped you.”

She started to close the door on me. “No. I don’t need your help.”

I pushed the door a little. “Kathleen, can you trust him? Let me inside and I can protect you.”

It was then the other guy walked up. He was a couple inches taller then I was, and very well built. He must have worked out a bit on the side, but I noticed his stark blue eyes against his white-blonde hair.

“Are you bothering Kathleen? We need to finish her report before I leave. Please leave her alone. We’re working.”

I looked at him, then back at her. “Well…the concert tickets were from a friend, so I’ll see if they would like to go. Perhaps another night we can do something. Have a good night.” I turned and walked off, and I saw her hug the other guy. I felt the pit of my stomach turn. How could she go for him after she’d saved me and helped me so much? I would investigate later, but for now, I watched, hoping he wasn’t trying to hurt her.

Around 9:30, the front door opened again and he walked out, giving her a hug and then got into his car and drove off. I knew I had to see if she needed help. I walked back over to her place, and knocked on her door again.

Kathleen answered the door again. “Did you forg…Renton! Please go away!”

“Kathleen, did he hurt you? Did he do anything to you?”

She started to close the door again, but I pushed it open and walked into the house. “It’s ok. I won’t tell anyone, but you saved me and now I have to save you.”

She backed up into the house more, looking kind of nervous. “Renton, get out of my house…now please!”

I walked up to her and caught her before she tripped on the stairs. “Again, you almost killed yourself by falling. It’s ok. I’ll be gentle while I examine you.”

The next thing I felt was my face stinging and her running from under me. Boy, could she pack a punch. She grabbed her cordless phone and called someone, and it wasn’t until I was in the living room with her that I realized it was the police.

“Please! Help me! Someone is trying to rape me in my own home!”

I walked up to her fast and took the phone away, grabbing her arm. “Rape you? I don’t want to rape you. I just want to be sure that everything is ok. I need to make sure that you aren’t hurt too.” With that I softly placed a hand under her sweater, resting it on her stomach.

She started to cry. “Please…no…”

I nodded and sighed. “So he did hurt you. I barely touch you and you start to cry. I’m taking you back to my place where he can’t find you.” I started to pull her, and she kept struggling. “Kathleen, I can keep you safe. Just come with me.”

She screamed at me. “Let me go!! Just let me go!!”

I turned to look at her, and gave her a deep kiss. I had too. I’d been wanting too and it was supposed to end our perfect evening, but I just couldn’t help it. She needed to have someone to love her.

For a moment she stood there in the kiss, but pushed away after a moment. “Just…get…out of my house…please…”

I watched for just a moment, and sighed again, pulling her again. “I’m not letting you stay here, when that other guy could come back to hurt you again.”

We both stopped in our tracks as the front door opened again, and that ‘other guy’ walked into the house. “Kathleen? Sorry to barge in like this, but I forgot my…you?”

I groaned a little. “Look, you asshole. I’m not going to leave her here so you can hurt her again. Now back off! I’m taking her home.”

Kathleen was crying hard, tears running down her face, trying to pry my hand off of her.

He shook his head and opened the door. “You are the one leaving, and if I ever see you again, I’ll kill you myself.” He advanced on me, and I let go of Kathleen, since instinctively I wanted to defend myself. When I noticed she was running, I turned and made a fatal mistake. He punched me in the side of my face and grabbed me, literally throwing me out into the front lawn. I hadn’t felt that kind of pain for a few days. “Look you. You come back here and I’m going to promise that you will not live. Now leave Kathleen alone!”

I groaned and stood up, wiping some blood from my lips. “Don’t worry Kathleen. I’ll be back soon to help you. I promise.” With that I turned and walked off. I wasn’t about to let some random guy comfort her. He was probably going to molest her and make her cry more, but right now I had to get home for me. I was in more pain and I didn’t like that. ‘No…don’t worry, angel. Your own guardian will be back…”

A Day With The Angel

The following week was somewhat of a let down. Thunderheads had rolled in and it rained constantly. One of the days during the middle of the week had been a little sunny, but the storm overtook it and returned the day to its previous darkness.

Drack woke up on Friday morning as usual, and looked out the window, sighing softly. “Still…raining…” He gave off a small yawn and another sigh, then rolled over and smiled, seeing the face of the young angel in his bed. She had become accustomed to earth long enough to sleep though the night. He leaned over and kissed her cheek, as he did each morning. “Good morning, Jesse.” Drack draped his arm over her and kissed her cheek once more. She stirred a little, and gave off a soft smile, which was one of the few throughout the day she would give off. “…mmrr good morning…” Drack smiled and chuckled softly, as Jesse scooted closer to him. He wrapped his arm around her more fully and just held her, while she continued to wake up. About a minute passed before she opened her bright eyes, and looked up at him. “Is it…still raining?” Drack nodded and softly kissed her nose. “Yes, it is.” She sighed quietly and rested her head on his chest, gently rubbing his stomach, while he rubbed her back. This morning ritual had continued to bring them closer and closer, giving the angel more trust then she knew what to do with. They spent their usual 15-20 minutes in bed, just relaxing in silence, enjoying each others company.

Drack turned his head a little and smiled, looking at the clock. “Time really passes when we don’t have a sun to tell us. I think I should go make some breakfast for us.” Jesse nodded and kissed his chest softly, then looked up and smiled at him. Ever since Drack had repaired her wings for her, the smile on her face was becoming more frequent. She moved off of him and laid back in bed, as he smiled and sat up, grabbing a pair of boxers and slipped them on. “If you want anything special for breakfast, just ask.” She nodded and watched him leave. He asked her that every morning, but she could never understand why. She remained in bed for about five minutes, watching the drops of rain hit the window. It was a very heavy downpour, and it had been like that for days. Jesse sighed and slowly sat up, stretching. She flexed her wings a little, and smiled, knowing that she had them again. She stood up and slowly made the bed, just how Drack had shown her, then she herself slipped on a pair of underwear and shorts, and an open back shirt, so her wings could still be free. She and Drack would sleep nude together, only because she had asked to and she felt safer when they were like that.

“Jesse, breakfast is ready!” She smiled, hearing his voice call her from downstairs. She had come to like this man that had taken her in, and she enjoyed their time together. She walked down the stairs and the table was already set. Pancakes and Bacon, with coffee for Drack and tea for her. She smiled and walked to her seat, sitting down while Drack finished in the kitchen. “Go ahead and start eating. I’ll be done here in just a minute.” She nodded and took a couple of pancakes and some bacon, and started to eat them, using the fork and knife that Drack, again, had taught her to use. He walked over and sat down at the table, next to Jesse, and started to eat as well.

“Jesse, what were you going to do today?” She looked up at him, a little curious to the question. He’d never asked what she might do, but what she was going to do. “Umm…probably clean the house, like I do most of my days.” Drack smiled and nodded, taking a bite of bacon. “Well, no cleaning today.” Jesse looked somewhat confused, not sure what he meant. “How come Drack?” Drack smiled again and leaned over, kissing her cheek. “I want to take you somewhere today. You’ve been cooped up in the house for over a month and I thought it would be good for you to get out.” She looked a bit stunned. “Umm…Drack, I…I don’t know if I’m ready…for that. Plus it is still raining, and don’t you have work today?” He quickly finished his food and then took a drink of coffee, smiling at her. “No. I took the day off today, and I do think you are ready. And I’ll be right there by your side the whole time.” She looked at her plate of food, and slowly smiled. She’d been watching the outside world and had wanted to venture back out, but the fear of people attacking her was too much to bear, but her guardian wanted to take her out somewhere. She was happy…happy to go out and happy to be with him. “Al…alright. I’ll go.” She looked up at him and gasped, then giggled. He was right there at her face, smiling. “Drack! Don’t do that…” He laughed softly and kissed her lips gently, then stood up. “I’ll clean up here, while you go get dressed.” She looked up at him, curious again. “You know that I don’t have any clothes for earth, only the few items that I wear around the house.” Drack walked into the kitchen, placing the dishes in the sink. “Look in the closet. You will find a blue bag. Inside you’ll find some clothes that I think you’ll enjoy. Don’t worry about the dishes. I can take care of them.” He turned and smiled, seeing her start to clean up. She nodded a little and smiled, setting the dishes back down and walked up the stairs back to their room.

She opened the closet door and peered inside, spotting the blue bag that Drack had told her about. She pulled it out and set it on the bed, reaching inside. She pulled out a soft pink pair of slacks, a white blouse, and a bra. The blouse even had slits in the back already made for her wings. She smiled and slowly took off her clothes, except for the underwear and started to put on the shirt. “Actually, you need to put the other one on first.” She turned and smiled, seeing Drack at the door. “Which one goes first?” He walked in and smiled, picking up the bra. “This one. It’s called a bra. Turn around and I’ll help you put it on.” She nodded and turned so her back was to him. “Just put your arms through both of these straps, just like that…there we go, and I’ll fasten it behind you…good. All done. Let’s just make sure it is positioned right.” He reached around her and cupped her breasts in his hands, fixing the bra so it felt comfortable for her. He blushed softly, as did she. “Drack…this feels a little weird.” He chuckled softly and let her go. “I’m sorry…I just wanted to make sure that it was set right.” She shook her head and smiled up at him. “No…this bra feels weird.” She slowly reached down and took both of his hands, and placed them back on her breasts. “You could never feel weird to me.” Drack blushed brightly and kissed her head. “I’m glad I give you such security.” He gave her head one more soft kiss, then let go of her. “I think you should finish getting ready so we can go out.” She nodded a little, smiling still, a small amount of blush on her cheeks. “Drack, please tell me where we are going.” He shook his head and grinned. “No. I want it to be a surprise, but I promise you will like it. I’m going to take a shower and then we can go.” He smiled and kissed her on her cheek again, then grabbed some clean boxers from his dresser and walked into the bathroom. Jesse smiled and put on the shirt, like before, and made sure that her wings passed though, which they did. She then put on the pink slacks and smiled, fastening them properly. During this time, Drack had already undressed in the bathroom and started his shower. Jesse opened the door and walked in, starting to brush her teeth. “Jesse, can you close the door so it doesn’t get cold in here? She smiled and closed it slowly. “Sorry Drack.” She brushed her teeth for a few minutes, glancing at Drack every now and then. The sliding glass door to the shower was made of crushed glass so you could see the shape of the person on the other side, but not the actual person. She washed out her mouth and then started to brush her hair. Drack turned off the shower and reached out, grabbing a towel and dried himself off in the shower. “Drack, will we be out all day today?” Drack nodded a bit. “Well, more then likely, yes. If it gets to be too much for you, we can come back early, but otherwise we can spend the entire day out.” She finished brushing her hair as he stepped out, the towel around his waist. “Drack, I would like that a lot…if we could stay out all day.” She turned and kissed him softly on his lips, then walked out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her.

She waited downstairs while Drack finished getting ready. She walked into the kitchen and there was a box on the counter. She looked at it and saw the tag. “…Jesse. This is for me?” She walked back to the stairs and called up them. “Drack, there is a box on the counter in the kitchen. Is that for me?” Drack walked to the edge of the stairs and smiled, walking down, nodding. “Yes. That box is for you. I think you’ll enjoy what’s inside. You’ll be using them today.” Jesse blinked a little, then walked back to the kitchen, Drack following her. She picked up the box and sat down, placing it in her lap, then opened it. Inside were a pair of white, open-toed sandals. Jesse made a small gasp, and looked up at Drack. “These…these are for me?” Drack nodded and smiled. “Those are for you. I figured you might enjoy those more then tennis shoes.” Jesse pulled the sandals out of the box and placed them on the floor. She leaned down and slipped them on, buckling them. Drack smiled and nodded. “Jesse, how do they feel?” She smiled up at him, then stood up. “They feel wonderful, Drack. Thank you.” She walked up to him and gave him a gentle kiss. “Are we ready to go?” Drack nodded and kissed her cheek. “I believe we are. It’s not far, so we can walk. That’ll give you a chance to get out and see everything in a new light.”

Drack helped Jesse outside and smiled, as she covered her eyes a bit, since the rain had stopped recently and the sun had come out, leaving the world clean and fresh. Jesse took a few moments of just standing there, looking around, with Drack behind her, holding her hand. “It’s ok Jesse…just take your time. We have all day long.” She looked back at him and nodded, walking forward a bit and down the stairs. She stopped at the bottom and he closed the door and locked it, then he joined her below. “Alright. Let’s get going.” He took her hand and they walked down the street some. Jesse spent most of her time quiet and just looking around at the bright world, one that Drack was showing her. They stopped at a crosswalk and waited for the light to change, and Jesse turned to Drack, smiling. “Drack, thank you for this. I’m…I’m happy to be out with you, showing me everything.” Drack nodded and smiled back, kissing her cheek. “It is my pleasure.” The light changed for them to walk and they crossed the street and headed for the park. Deeper into the park was a very large enclosure, covered with a net. Drack smiled as Jesse’s face showed confusion as well as curiosity. They walked up to the enclosure and Drack helped Jesse through the door. The enclosure was actually an aviary and tropical garden. Jesse made a small gasp as she looked around, seeing all the vibrant colors and the birds that were free to fly around inside. “…Drack…”.Drack smiled and held her hand, walking in further. “This is an Aviary, Jesse. Birds that aren’t native to this area are brought here so people can learn about them and see them if they can’t leave the city. These are also flowers and plants not native to this region.” Jesse nodded and she walked around with Drack, reading the different postings for both the flowers and birds, just enjoying their time together. After a few hours of walking around and enjoying the scenery, Drack led Jesse out of the enclosure and walked to a nearby food stand, getting them a couple of sandwiches for them to eat, as well as some water. He sat down with her and smiled. “How are you feeling?” Jesse smiled at him and shrugged. “I’m fine. I thought I would be more tired, but I’m doing alright.” Drack handed her the sandwich and they talked about a few other things, but nothing of high importance, mostly about the Aviary.

The afternoon slowly grew into evening, as Drack and Jesse walked around the city, taking in all the sights the Drack thought were important to show. The sun was just about set as they made their way back to their home. Drack opened the front door and let them both in, then closed it and turned off all the lights. “Jesse? How did you like your day out?” She slowly turned and wrapped her arms around him, pushing her face into his chest and giving it a gentle kiss. “I loved it…thank you so much.” Drack chuckled a little and gave her head a gentle kiss. “You are more then welcome Jesse. I hope we can have more free days like this, but I think it’s time we got ready for bed.” Jesse looked up at the man who’d saved her and smiled, softly kissing his lips, then turned and giggled, walking upstairs. Drack blushed, but smiled, seeing how happy his fallen angel was. It made him feel good inside to know he was helping her regain confidence and happiness, in a world that could so easily take both.

He slowly made his way upstairs, turning off the lights from below and walked into the bedroom. Jesse was already almost done undressing, only in the bra and panties he’d given her. “Drack? Can you help me to take this off? I can’t undo it.” He smiled and walked over to her. “Of course. Actually, give me your hands behind your back and I’ll show you how so you can do it when I’m not here.” Jesse slowly moved her hands behind her, and let Drack move them. “Alright…when you grab this and this, just like that, press together and then move slightly, pulling apart…There you go. Just like that.” Jesse smiled and removed the bra from her, sliding it off. She turned and looked at Drack, who was just smiling back at her. “Drack? Why are you so happy?” He chuckled and blushed a little. “Well, it’s because you are so happy.” He smiled and gave her a soft kiss, then started to undress. He removed his shoes and socks, then pulled off his shirt. He stood up and removed his pants and boxers, then set them all aside. He climbed into bed, as did Jesse, and they curled up together. “Drack? Thank you again for this most wonderful day…I hope we can have more of them.” Drack gently ran his hand through Jesse’s hair, smiling and holding her close. “We will. I promise we will. I think now it is time to sleep though.” Jesse looked up a little and kissed his chin, then softly kissed his chest. “Do you mind if we stay awake like this for a bit more? I want to hold you and feel you while I’m still awake.” Drack blushed softly again, but never had it in him to deny her. “Of course we can.” He continued to run his fingers through her hair, while her lips danced around his chest and shoulders. He closed his eyes, not from being tired, but from feeling great pleasure. Jesse did something different tonight. She slowly climbed onto him and laid there, looking down into his face. Drack opened his eyes and she was smiling at him. “J…Jesse?” She giggled and kissed him deeply, wrapping her arms around his neck while they kissed. Her tongue slowly slipped into his mouth and felt around. Drack was knocked off guard, but he really was enjoying this, and helping her, so he allowed her to kiss him in the manner. They held the kiss for a good 5 minutes, before Jesse broke it, breathing hard. “D…Drack…I’m sorry…” Drack slowly opened his eyes and smiled wide, panting a little. “Shh. Don’t worry. I enjoyed it, and I know you did too.” He smiled at her more and rubbed her cheek. “Come on now. Lay back down with me, and we can sleep.” Jesse smiled and nodded, and laid down on top of him, snuggling with him like that. Drack didn’t object and he worked the covers up over them. He reached over and turned off the light, and they both soon found their way to dreams, mostly of each other. It really had been a perfect day.

Revival of an Angel

The deep darkness held heavy in the air. The lights that once ran along the street were long broken or burnt out. Only light from the near by buildings shone on the street, but that served no real purpose. Walking alone in the night was a young man, one that believed. One that hoped. One that loved. He wasn't scared of the darkness, for he knew that the demons it contained wouldn't touch him. They feared the light he himself gave off, the inner fire that burned in his soul. He frequently walked this path home, but this night was going to be different. Different for him, and different for another. Those who were without homes were numerous on these streets, especially at night, but something pulled him down an alley. A lasso had gripped his heart and he was being dragged down a darker back street. Though he was unsure of what he would find, he still was not afraid. Those that lurked in the shadows would remain distant for fear of being purified. They clung to themselves so as not to be rebuked by the light. He stopped about halfway down the alley and turned, looking at a dumpster. Something inside of him wasn't permitting him to walk any longer until he searched the contents of the garbage bin. Unable to persuade himself, he climbed the side of the bin and pulled out a lighter. He peered inside and looked about, but he couldn't see anything. As he climbed down though, something inside moved...Something large. He put himself to the defensive, but removed bag after bag of trash. After removing one final bag, his heart nearly dropped. It was a girl. A very young girl. He appeared to be gravely injured, but alive. Her breathing was extremely shallow, but she was still alive. He immediately jumped into the dumpster and picked her up. She was very fragile and undernourished, but he now had her to care for. He took his overcoat and wrapped it around her, then climbed out of the garbage and hastened home. He didn't know this person. He knew nothing about her, yet he felt it in his heart to help her. Making his way through the darkness again, he could feel the demons of the night showing themselves more. This girl in his arms must have been important to them, but he would not relinquish her to them. She was his charge, and he wouldn't give her up so easily. Walking into his small home, he closed the door, then carried the girl to his sofa. He carefully unwrapped her and laid her naked form on the cushions. Instinctively he walked into the bathroom and collected towels and hot water. He brought them back out and kneeled down next to the unconsious girl, and began to wash her wounds as best as he could. She had short dirty hair and her body appeared to have been severely beaten. What caught his eyes the most though, was the back of the girl. She seemed to have been propped slightly. As he turned her, two very small broken wings showed. The feathers, once beautiful, were tattered, dirty, and ripped in various places. Her wing bones were broken as well as a few others in her body. He remained gentle and caring, and something inside of him started to awaken the girl. Not physically, but emotionally. A faint holy energy began to flow from the man into the angel, her own divine aura slowly being recharged. She didn't know of where she was, or what had happened in the past days, but something here, something now. It felt safe, warm, inviting. The man continued his careful cleaning, dressing any deep wounds he could find. Using some of the hot water, he gently washed her hair and face, cleaning her as best as he could. He got up and brought out a robe of his and carefully placed her in it, wrapping her in the plush cloth. He gently picked her up in his arms and carried her into his bedroom, and placed her in his own bed. He made sure that there were extra pillows and blankets for her, and he covered her until he was sure that her comfort could be ensured. He sat down on the edge of the bed and gently stroked her cheek. Already the glow of the angel was returning, though it was take quite a while before anything of significance could show through again. He spent nearly 15 minutes running his hand through her hair, gently relaxing her shaken spirit. After he was sure she would remain asleep for him, he got up and left the room, leaving the door open, in case of an emergency. He walked out and laid down on the sofa, thinking to himself. 'Why was she so important? Why was I drawn to that alley, that dumpster? What does she mean to me?' With these thoughts racing through his head, he laid his head down on the sofa and fell asleep. Hours passed, but early that morning, he awoke with an energy he hadn't felt in a long time. He stood up from the sofa, but before he went to check on the girl he'd found the previous night, he walked into the kitchen and made a bowl of soup, collected some bread, and poured a glass of milk for his guest. Carrying these into the room, he set them on a table and walked over to the girl. He kneeled down on the floor, and softly rubbed her face again. She was indeed beautiful, and he was sure now that she was an angel. A demon though had captured her and abused her, forcing her divine energy to fade and vanish. He knew why he had found her. It was his job to help bring her back to the life she knew, the life she was made for. He was a little surprised to see her eyes open. After only a night of rest, she had gained enough strength back to open her eyes. It didn't surprise him, but her look was that of horror, one she frequently had more then likely. He softly smiled, a rich, warm energy permeating the room. His voice was soft and caring, full of truth and energy. He continued to rub her cheek and he just looked at her, smiling deeply. "Good morning, my young angel. My name is Drack. Welcome...to your new life."

Alone

It was a cold night, and there were no stars in the sky, no moon to shine light upon, only darkness. The young man walked through the barren wasteland, clutching his chest, as pain surged through his body, pain only felt on the inside of someone, when they are unloved, rejected, or misunderstood. He stumbled along the dusty road, unsure of the direction he was going, but still hoping that he was moving forward. It had been years that he walked in this desert, hoping that he could find someone to help him, to hold him, to guide him out. Many times he felt he’d been with someone, but it was only a figment of his imagination. No one wanted to be together with him. He was merely a bridge for others. He was there for their support, until they found their own way across the gulley, and he was alone again in the dark. He would sometimes confide in himself, hoping that maybe someday, someone would find him, and help him out of the darkness he felt within, but it had been many years, and the darkness just grew more and more, encasing him. With each painful image, each shout or argument, each jealous feeling or inner rage, he fell more and more into the depth with no return. Only he was there to help himself, only he could hold himself. He could speak with others, but they all had their own lives, own loves, and he was nothing more then a voice to them…not even a face, just a voice. Words would calm him, but it wasn’t comforting for long. Sometimes the pains would become so great, he could feel the wounds on his flesh, the warmth of his lifeblood fade until it was a chill gel, but he would still walk, hoping that someone would help him, to help his inner wounds heal, but he had yet to find someone. Those around him misunderstand him, or refuse to fully accept him for what he is, and these doubts and neglections only weigh heavier on his heart, his mind, his life. Happiness is fleeting, joy; momentary, love; rare. Falsities outnumber the truths, and mental creation is his only form of pleasure. He would rest sometimes, but the only comfort was the cold walls of the night, the blinding emptiness, the never-ending abyss. Tears would stream down his face, but no one would see them. They were tears of release, the pain, sorrow, agony, jealousy, rage… all that welled up in him, were shed, but they would not bring much comfort. The only comfort he could truly feel was that of arms around him, a kiss on his forehead, a loving touch, but even that was mostly fake, only a hope of his mind, wanting him to be happy. Curled up in the middle of nowhere, he was certain someone would find him, but no one had come…no one was coming…no one was there…to hold him…to have him…to love him…he was…Alone.
